12 episodes — aired 2011 — animated by Shaft
original work
genre: magical girl, psychological

Madoka is a fairly ordinary young schoolgirl until one day, after having a strange dream, she encounters a magical creature called Kyuubey. Madoka and her friend Sayaka are offered the opportunity of gaining magical powers if they agree to make a contract with the strange little being. He will also grant them one wish, but in exchange they shall risk their lives by fighting witches—twisted creatures of despair that are invisible to the eyes of ordinary humans. A magical girl called Mami befriends the two and encourages them to take up the deal, but another mysterious magical girl called Homura seems determined to prevent this from happening.

Steins;Gate
24 episodes — aired 2011 — animated by White Fox
VN adaptation
genre: sci-fi, thriller

Okabe is a self-proclaimed “mad scientist”, an avid conspiracy theorist and the founder of the Future Gadget Laboratory, where he hangs out with his friends Daru and Mayuri, and invents some fairly useless gadgets. One day he and his friend Daru discover that their Phone Microwave invention is actually able to send messages to the past. Sending messages with this device can cause significant changes to the present, and Okabe soon realises that he is the only one who keeps his memory of previous timelines when this happens. However, he soon discovers that continually altering the past can have serious and unforeseen consequences, and has to come up with a way to return to the original timeline to save the lives of his lab partners.
